Developing independence and strengthening relationsips.
School camps provide students with the opportunity to strengthen social relationships, develop independence and experience a different style of learning.
In such settings, skills in teamwork, negotiation and personal confidence are fostered. On camp, students will be exposed to a range of activities they may not have tried before and will be encouraged to practice a growth mindset in having a go at things they may not have tried before. Camps are also linked to the academic curriculum and provide an opportunity to deepen and extend classroom learning.
In 2019, our Year 5/6 students travelled to Bruny Island, Tasmania, where they embraced the pristine beauty of this environment, engaged in nature-based activities and visited historical sites.
In 2020, Year 5/6 camp will take place in Canberra: 10-13 March.
A Year 3/4 camp will be introduced in 2020 and will take place at Sovereign Hill, Ballarat: 9-10 November.
